What better way to spend a day celebrating Chesapeake Watermen than by throwing a Bay cruise into the mix? Cruises on the Bay™ by Watermark® announces a new special event cruise: roundtrip cruise and ticket package from Annapolis to the 6th Annual Watermen’s Appreciation Day & Crab Feast in St. Michaels on Sunday, August 9, 2015. Guests on the “Cruise to the Watermen’s Festival” will travel in luxury across the Chesapeake Bay to St. Michaels where they’ll attend the event at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum. The event features a “watermen’s rodeo” boat docking contest, crab feast and entertainment for all ages.

Highlights of the event hosted by the Talbot County Watermen’s Association include guest appearances from Reality TV star Captain Keith Colburn from the F/V Wizard on Discovery Channel’s “Deadliest Catch” and Edgar Hansen from the F/V Northwestern, live music with Bird Dog & the Road Kings, kid’s activities and much more. Throughout the day, festival-goers can get an up-close view of the museum’s floating fleet of historic Chesapeake vessels, along with a selection of working watermen’s boats.

Watermark’s yacht for the cruise features a climate controlled enclosed lower levels and an open top deck perfect for enjoying the Bay breeze. “We’ve been cruising from Annapolis to St. Michaels for over 40 years,” says Debbie Gosselin, president of Watermark, “In the Spring, we have a popular cruise to the WineFest at St. Michaels. Offering a cruise to the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum’s Watermen’s Appreciation Day is new for us and fits in perfectly with our goal to immerse people in the fun and culture of the Chesapeake Bay region. Cruising to the festival takes out the stress of driving to the Eastern Shore and we’ll dock right at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum where the event takes place.”

“Watermen’s Day is an annual favorite among locals and guests alike,” said Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum President Kristen Greenaway. “You can meet many of the watermen who work to bring seafood to tables across the region, while having a great time celebrating the Chesapeake in such an incredibly authentic way.”

The cruise to St. Michaels is an enjoyable two-hour ride. On the morning cruise, guests will enjoy a continental breakfast and on the return, trip boxed meals will be served. Guests will have 5 hours of leisure time in St. Michaels to enjoy the festival and the town. Admission to the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum is also included. This festival is a wonderful way to experience the charm of the Eastern Shore and quaint St. Michaels. The event is hosted by Talbot County Watermen’s Festival in cooperation with Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum with proceeds benefiting both organizations. Food and drink at the festival including the Crab Feast are an additional cost.

All inclusive tickets for the Sunday, August 9th Cruise to the Watermen’s Festival are $89/person. Tickets include the roundtrip cruise, admission to Watermen’s Appreciation Day, admission to the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, continental breakfast and a boxed meal. Food, drink and crab feast at the festival are an additional cost. The trip is a full day from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Boarding begins 15 minutes before cruise time in downtown Annapolis.
