Bowie breaks close game open in late win

BaysoxBaysox DH Chance Sisco provided four hits of 15 for the club as the Baysox opened up a tight game late to win 7-3 in Harrisburg Sunday afternoon.

Up 2-1 in the top of the eighth inning, the Baysox got consecutive one-out RBI hits from 3B Drew Dosch and SS Garabez Rosa to lead 4-1. An inning later, Bowie blew the game wide open. Sisco doubled to left-center to lead off the inning. RF Quincy Latimore then doubled him home and C David Freitas followed with a two-run home run off of the right field foul pole for a 7-1 advantage.

The Baysox scored 12 runs over the last two days against the Harrisburg pen.

Bowie’s pitching continued to stand tall. LHP Chris Lee went six shutout innings (3-0) allowing four hits while striking out five. He won three games in 14 starts with Advanced-A Frederick but now has won all three of his starts with Bowie. The Baysox allowed just six runs in the three game series.

With the win the Baysox close the season series with Harrisburg as 12-8. Bowie is now 18 games above .500 for the first time this season. Their lead is 4.5 games over Akron and 5.5 games on top of Altoona in the West.
