The Cavaliers Drum & Bugle to perform at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium

2012 DCA ChampionshipsOn Wednesday, July 29, The Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps, from Rosemont, Ill., will perform at Drum Corps: An American Tradition. 

The event begins at 7:30 p.m. at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. This event is an opportunity for drum corps fan and marching band students in the Annapolis area to experience Drum Corps International (DCI) up close and personal.

Fans attending this event will enjoy performances from some of the world’s top drum corps including: The Cavaliers (Rosemont, IL), The Cadets (Allentown, PA), Madison Scouts (Madison, WI), The Academy (Tempe, AZ), Spirit of Atlanta (Atlanta, GA), Jersey Surf (Camden County, NJ), Mandarins (Sacramento, CA. 

Local members of The Cavaliers include horn line members Jeremy Meredith (baritone) and Nicholas Gasemy (mellophone).

This summer, The Cavaliers will travel over 10,000 miles across the United States with 32 performances in 16 states. The Cavaliers have members from 27 states, in addition to international members from Japan, Taiwan, Canada, and Belgium.

Founded in 1948 from Boy Scout Troop 111, The Cavaliers are one of the most successful drum and bugle corps in history, winning 20 national championships, including seven Drum Corps International world championships since 1992.

The Cavaliers provide a variety of educational and performance programs for young people, including GearWORKS and Cavaliers Indoor Percussion. The organization delivers life-changing experiences that go beyond music and performing arts to build personal accountability, excellence, teamwork, and camaraderie.
