It takes a village: art, oysters, and tea–Green Drinks this Tuesday

Green DrinksAnnapolis Green will highlight how all aspects of our community come together in stewardship and beautification to create a vibrant and Green town.

The venue will be Gallery 3976, actually group of small businesses that have come together to share space in one grand gallery located in the heart of the Annapolis Design District – latitude 39 north, longitude 76 west.

Co-hosts are Gallery 3976, the Oyster Recovery Partnership, Spa Creek Conservancy and Capital Teas. The theme is “It Takes A Village: Art, Oysters & Tea!” The theme denotes how artists, non-profits, and commercial companies, and citizens, all have a role to play in taking care of our land and waterways.

The Design District, just off Chinquapin Round Road, is at the headwaters of Spa Creek and volunteers from the Spa Creek Conservancy will explain how runoff from roads and parking lots affects the health of the creek.

Members of the Design District are interested in Greening the area and we will have information on how beautification and landscaping increases property values and attracts customers. Beautification is a core component of Annapolis Green’s “Keep Annapolis Beautiful” initiative as an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful.

Green Drinkers will select from various types of Flying Dog beer, provided by event sponsor Flying Dog Brewery. Complimentary light appetizers will be served by Julie St. Marie Catering & Event Coordination. Wine will be available for a donation, and food may be purchased from CrabTownCurbs Cuisine – the turquoise food truck. Capital Teas will provide samples of its refreshing brewed iced teas.
