Baysox left stranded in Altoona

BaysoxThe Baysox left nine men on-base and saw two Altoona home runs provide the damage in a 4-2 loss Saturday night in Altoona. The defeat moves the Curve into a tie with the Baysox for first place in the Western Division.

Tied at 1-1 in the third inning, Altoona LF Jose Osuna hit a two-out, two-run home run to left-center field to put the Curve up 3-1. An inning later it was Curve 3B Edward Salcedo with a solo home run for a 4-1 lead.

The Baysox had their chances to rally. Bowie had three hits in the fifth inning but C David Freitas was thrown out at the plate to end the inning. In the sixth inning, there were two men on with nobody out but a strikeout and double play ball ended the frame. Bowie did get a run in the seventh on a two-out RBI-double from RF Quincy Latimore.
