Rousing marches and energetic medleys will be featured at the “Summer Concert” at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 2, in the Robert E. Kauffman Theater in the Pascal Center for Performing Arts at Anne Arundel Community College.
The AACC Concert Band, conducted by adjunct music faculty Paul Dembowki, will join with the Broadneck Area Summer Band and Orchestra, led by Severn River Middle School Band Director Michael Tayman and Magothy River Middle School Band Director Robert Stojakovich for an afternoon of lively music.
Tickets are $10 general admission, $7 AACC employees, active military, senior citizens, groups, outside students and children under 10; and $5 for students with valid AACC student ID. Tickets are available at the door or through the AACC box office, 410-777-2457 or [email protected].
The AACC Concert Band is a 60-member ensemble that includes AACC students and staff, as well as residents throughout the Baltimore-Washington region. The community members represent many professions and include retired and active-duty military musicians and music educators.
The Broadneck Area Summer Band and Orchestra includes instrumental music students of all ages in the Broadneck school feeder system who meet once a week during the summer to refine music and performance skills. In addition to directors Tayman and Stojakovich, the group is assisted by Broadneck High School faculty members Dembowski and Matthew Heist and AACC Concert Band members.
