Giant supermarket coming to Odenton

Giant FoodsNellis Corporation is pleased to announce the signing of a new lease with Giant Food for a 60,492 square-foot, full-service grocery store (with pharmacy) at Odenton Shopping Center in Odenton, Maryland.  Construction has begun and the store is expected to open in late 2015.

Odenton Shopping Center is located at 1103-1185 Annapolis Road in Odenton, Maryland in close proximity to Fort Meade, BWI Airport, and the National Security Agency (NSA) headquarters.

With the addition of Giant to the center, Odenton Shopping Center will secure its status as the premier neighborhood shopping destination in Odenton.  Giant will join an already strong tenant line-up that includes tenants such as Advanced Auto Parts, Dollar Tree, Five Guys, the US Post Office, Fresenius Medical Group, Old Line Bank, and others.

“The addition of Giant to Odenton Shopping Center provides a much-needed, high-quality grocery store to the Odenton market,” said Pete Federowicz, Nellis Corporation’s Chief Operating Officer.  “Nearby residents will finally have the diverse and fresh options that a full-size Giant supermarket offers.”

Giant operates 168 supermarkets in Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and Washington, DC.  Giant opened the first supermarket in Washington, DC in 1936.

John Mitchell, Chris Wilkinson and Bob Schwenger of JBG Rosenfeld Retail represented Nellis Corporation, and David Ward of H&R Retail represented the tenant in the transaction.
