The Treaty of Paris Center has announced upcoming sessions in August as well as their annual festival in September!
August 1: “Congress in Annapolis”
On Saturday, August 1, the Treaty of Paris Center at the Maryland Inn on Main Street in Annapolis presents “An Overview of What Congress Achieved in Annapolis, Nov. 26, 1783 – Aug. 13, 1784,” featuring a lecture by Mark Croatti at 2:30pm in the Treaty of Paris Restaurant. From 11:00am – 3:30pm the Treaty of Paris Center will offer films on the Treaty of Paris Period, including George Washington’s Resignation, the ratification of the Treaty of Paris and the 1786 Annapolis Convention, as well as walking tours that follow in the footsteps of Washington, Jefferson, Monroe, Madison and Hamilton. As always, the featured exhibit is “America’s 14 Forgotten Presidents Before George Washington” under the Articles of Confederation and the Continental Congress.
2015 National Treaty of Paris Festival, September 11-12: “Alexander Hamilton”
Don’t forget to make plans to attend the 2015 National Treaty of Paris Festival on Friday and Saturday, September 11-12, with the theme, “Alexander Hamilton: George Washington’s Indispensable Partner.” Join us for morning, afternoon and evening events at the Maryland Inn, the Maryland State House, the Chase-Lloyd House, the John Callahan House, the Brice House, St. John’s College and the Annapolis Collection Gallery.
New “French Battlefield” Guided Buggy Tour
Did you miss the arrival of L’Hermione? The Treaty of Paris Center is proud to announce the debut at the Sept. 12 festival of “The French Battlefield Tour,” a guided buggy ride of Revolutionary War sites related to the French presence in Annapolis, in partnership with Urban Eventours.
