Sweetlife Festival happened this weekend, that’s about it.

SLF2015-AThe 6th Annual Sweetlife Festival happened at Merriweather Post Pavilion this weekend. It seems like a lot of people had a fun time.  They had some good acts like Kendrick Lamar, Calvin Harris, The Weeknd, Pixies, Charli XCX, Billy Idol, Phantogram, Marina & The Diamonds, Bleachers, Tove Lo, Vance Joy, Lucius, Vic Mensa, Allen Stone, Raury, MisterWives, St. Paul & The Broken Bones, Sinkane, San Fermin, Life of Dillon, Wet, GoldLink, Sun Club, Holychild, and Walking Sticks.

We heard that a fan got on stage with Kendrick Lamar after telling him that his music saved her from suicide and that made her day. There was a rumor that Taylor Swift was in attendance because Vance joy is currently on tour with her; but we think that proved to be wrong.  And that is about it from the disappointing Sweetlife Festival.

We apologize for the blase report, but that’s about all we have. Unfortunately, for some reason, management did not feel the need for media to tell the story. Ten days before the festival, they notified us that they would not be allowing any cameras or recording devices into the venue. We tried to get a clarification, but their press liaison proved non-responsive. So without a response, we chose to not send a photographer.

Hi there,

Thank you again for your interest in attending sweetlife music festival on May 30 – 31. While we would still love for you to attend and cover the festival, we unfortunately cannot accommodate access to the photo pit due to limited space. We also cannot approve any cameras or recording devices into the venue.

We will have an FTP site available following the festival where you can access images for use and can share closer to the festival.

The festival grew this year from a single day sold out event into a 2-day very expensive one.

If you want to see photos of the fest, here is a link to an Instagram tag which will feature a lot of long distance shots, duckfaces, body paint, drunk teens, and sunburns.
