Baysox right-handed starting pitcher Terry Doyle has been named Eastern League Pitcher of the Week for the week ending Sunday, June 7. He is the first Baysox pitcher to receive the award this season.
This past week, Doyle went 2-0 with a 1.20 ERA and 10 strikeouts over 15.0 innings and two starts. Sunday, Doyle threw the Baysox first complete game shutout since 2012 (RHP Tommy Hunter on 8/27) in a 5-0 victory over the Portland Sea Dogs. In five starts this season, Doyle is 3-1 with a 2.70 ERA, four walks, 23 strikeouts in 30.0 innings. In 10 total appearances, he is 5-1 with a 2.61 ERA and one save in 48.1 innings. He has walked just four batters this season while striking out 39. Doyle’s 2.61 ERA leads the team and is the eighth-lowest in the Eastern League.
