Weitzman hires Jim Schmidt as new VP/Senior Creative Director

jim-schmidtWeitzman, a full-service, results-driven marketing agency today announced the addition of Jim Schmidt, who joins the company as Vice President/Senior Creative Director. In that role, Schmidt will lead Weitzman’s creative discipline, providing strategic guidance for clients and artistic direction for the team.

Schmidt brings more than 20 years of creative experience to Weitzman, having most recently served as Associate Creative Director for Proof Integrated Communications in Washington, DC. Proof is part of Burson-Marsteller, a global public relations firm within Young & Rubicam Brands, a subsidiary of WPP, one of the world’s leading communications services networks. During his tenure, he led development of multi-media advertising campaigns and played key roles on some of the company’s largest client initiatives.

Prior to Proof, Jim held creative roles at Penn Schoen Berland, Discovery Communications, and Doner where his resourceful approach to ideation and graphic design helped build cohesive, cross-media promotions.

Schmidt is a proven creative catalyst who has worked with such clients as Animal Planet, Comcast, Discovery Health, HTC, Intel, Shell, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, TLC, Travel Channel, UN Refugee Agency and ZeroWater.

His work has garnered awards from Telly and the American Advertising Federation. An accomplished artist, poet and local musician, Schmidt inherently adds context to research and data to produce a more memorable creative product.

Schmidt graduated from Towson University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communication – Advertising.
