Last week, in honor of National Drug Court month, the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County Adult Drug Treatment Court program sponsored a Drug Court Community Service Day at Gaudenzia Inc located in Crownsville, MD.  State’s Attorney Wes Adams and Deputy State’s Attorney Jonathon Church along with other SAO staff volunteered alongside Drug Court participants.  The group spent the day landscaping, renovating and painting the newly acquired facility.

The Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County Adult Drug Treatment Court works to improve our community through enhanced public safety by providing judicially supervised treatment to substance abusing offenders, thereby reducing the social and economic cost of criminal activity.  It is a collaborative effort between the Circuit Court, the State’s Attorney’s Office, the Office of the Public Defender, the Division of Parole and Probation, and the Department of Health. Relationships with other community agencies such as the Anne Arundel County Detention Center, Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake, and the many local treatment providers are considered vital to the success of the program.

“I am happy to give back to the community as part of the Drug Court Community Service Day at Gaudenzia.  Assistant State’s Attorney Robin Rickard and paralegal Suzanne Ford do a tremendous job helping to rehabilitate our Drug Court participants.  I am proud of what they have accomplished today and every day,” said Wes Adams.

We would like to thank Steven Rosser owner of the Subway located at 8221 Ritchie Highway #106 Pasadena, MD for donating lunch for all of our participants and the Home Depot located at 55 Forest Plaza Annapolis, MD for donating all of the flowers.
