VisitAnnapolis launches NaptownLocals.com website

Screen Shot 2015-04-15 at 8.26.28 PMVisitors to Annapolis should find it easier than ever before to explore the City like a local thanks to a new website the Annapolis & Anne Arundel County Conference and Visitors Bureau (AAACCVB) launched today. Powered by the insights, commentary and recommendations of local bloggers, Naptownlocals.com puts inquiring visitors quickly in the know.

According to AAACCVB President and CEO Connie Del Signore, the AAACCVB’s latest social marketing venture is designed to meet visitors where they are by making the process of gathering information simple, relevant and fun. “Today’s travelers regularly seek the advice of trusted third parties on Trip Advisor and blog sites, and they’re quick to share their experiences via social media, Instagram and personal blogs. Naptownlocals.com helps them get the conversation going in a format they know and are comfortable with,” says Del Signore. The new site provides the latest information on events, attractions and happenings and introduces viewers to Annapolis’ hidden gems, local traditions and insider favorites.

Del Signore says since the AAACCVB’s VisitAnnapolis.org website was launched two years ago, blog traffic has increased dramatically. The stand-alone site that debuted today is designed to put viewers more directly in touch with the information they need.

In March 2014, the AAACCVB launched a stand-alone WeddingsInAnnapolis.com website designed to bolster weddings’ business in the destination. Since that time, wedding traffic on the site has grown from an average of ten visits per month to between 800 to 1,000 visits per month. According to Del Signore, the southern Anne Arundel County wedding venue, Herrington on the Bay, has received more than 400 views of its property on WeddingsInAnnapolis.com thus far this year. The AAACCVB expects the Naptownlocals.com blog site will perform in a similar way by piquing viewers’ interests and linking them back to the VisitAnnapolis.org site for more information.

As it has done with its other recently created websites including: WeddingsInAnnapolis.com, MeetInAnnapolis.com and TheHotelsAtBWI.com, the AAACCVB plans to build a following for the Naptownlocals.com site through cross promotional marketing efforts.
