Muddy Creek Artists Guild presents “Artists on the Half-Shell” at Homestead Gardens

The Muddy Creek Artists Guild (MCAG) is pleased to announce its 7th annual spring art show and sale featuring works from local artists who live and work in Southern Anne Arundel County. The show is free to the public and will run Thursday, May 28 through Sunday, May 31 at Homestead Gardens, located at 743 West Central Avenue, Davidsonville, MD, 21035. There will be an opening reception Friday, May 29 from 5–8pm, featuring refreshments and live entertainment, as well as an opportunity to meet the artists.

This is the first time Muddy Creek artists have shown at Homestead Gardens and both the Guild and the Homestead staff believe it’s a well-suited partnership. Guild members are particularly excited about the prospect of a whole new audience of art lovers from the Davidsonville area visiting the show for the first time. The management of Homestead Gardens is happy to support the Guild as an important and valued arts organization in Southern Anne Arundel County.

The Guild will present a professional art gallery of works that explore a variety of subjects, including the local Chesapeake Bay region, in an array of different media including painting, pottery, photography, jewelry, and textiles. The focus of the spring show has always been on showing brand new work, so visitors can expect to see new and varied selections. In addition, the Guild will also host its Studio Intrepid workshop on Saturday and Sunday, May 30–31, where artists engage with the public in a community art project. Participants can choose to share the art on the community canvas or keep the piece they’ve created for themselves.

Show Hours: Thursday, May 28, 9am to 7pm; Friday, May 29, 9am to 8pm, with a “Meet the Artists” reception from 5pm to 8pm; Saturday, May 30, 9am to 7pm; and Sunday, May 31, 9am to 5pm.
