Bay Bridge Boat Show opens today in Stevensville

Bay Bridge Spring Boat ShowPowerboats of every imaginable size and style, including thirty brands of fishing boats and dozens of pontoons arrive at the Bay Bridge Boat Show on April 17-19, 2015. 

The Stevensville docks will be teeming with an impressive selection of new fishing boats built by the leading boat manufacturers. Annapolis Boat Shows has secured commitments from more than 200 new and brokerage boats, and the list grows each day. The in-water show’s focus on fishing includes tackle shop discounts, an abundance of fishing gear and accessories, and fun activities for fishermen and their families.

Interested buyers will have the opportunity to take a demo boat ride choosing from 19 different powerboats as they ‘try before they buy.’ Available all weekend, demo rides are sponsored by PropTalk. 

Brandon Gentry, executive chef of Hemingway’s will prepare mouth-watering whole grilled fresh Chesapeake Bay rockfish fillets daily at 3:00 pm.

Lifetime anglers Joe Cap and Bill O’Brien of Shore Tackle and Custom Rods will illustrate fly fishing techniques and teach casting lessons. In addition they will demonstrate how to cast a spinning rod, and explain the value of custom-built rods. 

Jimmy D. Kennedy with Cabot Cheese will conduct a cooking demonstration of ‘Simple Salmon Cakes with Greek Yogurt’ – Friday, April 17th at 1:00 pm.

“Each year as the show concludes, boat buyers complete their boat deals and are fishing on the bay the very next day,” the show’s general manager Paul Jacobs said.

“What could be better than a summer fishing on the Chesapeake in your new center console purchased and outfitted at the Bay Bridge Boat Show?”

For boaters planning something more than fishing, like spending the summer on the Chesapeake with their children, they can board and explore center consoles, trawlers, express cruisers, down east cruisers, pontoons, luxury offshore cruisers, jet skis, jet boats, ski boats, bowriders, bass boats, inflatables, kayaks, SUPs, and canoes.

Free opening day BBQ Bash sponsored by Trident Funding Corporation and Black Dog Propellers features: Hemingway’s Carolina-style Barbecue Buffet, live entertainment by the popular rock band, A Classic Case, pool-side cash bar serving local craft beers including Dogfish Head Ale and Fin City Brewing, gourmet chocolates courtesy of Parfections Chocolate, and, local craft brewers discussing their specialty brews. The BBQ Bash begins at 5pm and is free to all ticket holders, exhibitors, and staff.

The newest fitness craze–Stand Up Paddleboard or SUP. Capital SUP will perform daily dockside demos of the “gym on the water.”

Children’s activities include a moon bounce, face painting, and an expanded food court.

Restored historic wooden boats like wooden classics, vintage race boats, and other antique boats will be displayed by Chesapeake Antique Classic Boat Society.

Free daily seminars offered by Chesapeake Bay Magazine and Annapolis School of Seamanship.

More than $3,000 in valuable door prizes donated by sponsors and exhibitors.
