Anne Arundel County’s largest farmer’s market to host Grand Opening April 15th

Ev_FarmersMarket_panThe recently-formed Crofton Farmers Market has announced that it will officially open to the public with a Grand Opening Event on Wednesday, April 15 from 4:00-7:00 pm.

The group’s organizers are pleased to note that 50 vendors are already confirmed to participate at the official location, Maryland Route 3 North and Davidsonville Road (Giant parking lot).

Making the Crofton Farmers Market particularly special and unique is that it is a “producers-only” market, in that the manufacturers of the product – those who take a heightened level of personal pride in their products — are the very ones who will present them to the public.

“What’s more,” noted Crofton Farmers Market Manger, Chad Houck, “we are dedicated to bringing a tremendous assortment of the highest quality, local produce, meats, dairy, breads, flowers, specialty foods, collectibles and crafts directly to where we call home – Crofton, Maryland.”

Houck further commented that Crofton Farmers Market will be much more than a weekly shopping stop. “With the vendors we’re working with, Crofton Farmers Market will actually be a Wednesday afternoon destination for the entire family.” For example, it will have a Kids Zone, with specific vendors geared towards a younger clientele, including face painting, balloon twisting and free kids crafts. “In that way,” Houck added, “parents or grandparents can take their time while shopping and know that their children will be having a terrific time as well.”

And for those looking for fabulous food on-site, Crofton Farmers Market will showcase such vendors as Greek on the Street (food truck), All Fired Up (brick oven pizza), Frankie Falafel (creator of the famous Frankie “FaWaffel”),   C&JDs Stand (Carolina-style barbecue) and Short Thing Shellfish (fresh oysters!)

Plenty of parking is available with more than 90 spaces surrounding the market. For more information visit: www.CroftonFarmersMarket.com.
