AAMC announces heart-healthy events for February

Feb Heart Health MonthAnne Arundel Medical Center (AAMC) is presenting a month of heart healthy educational events throughout February, widely known as heart awareness month.

Heart disease continues to be a leading cause of death for men and women in the United States. The2012 Anne Arundel County community health needs assessment, the most recent data available, shows that the County’s rate of mortality from heart disease is higher than state and national levels. Improving cardiovascular health and quality of life through education, prevention, detection and access to treatment is a priority for AAMC’s healthcare providers.

AAMC invites community members to learn more about heart health and prevention. Learn your heart age and risk for heart disease with AAMC’s free heart health profiler online at AAMCYoungAtHeart.org.
