Police investigating morning murder in Freetown

MurderOn Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at approximately 7:39 a.m., the Anne Arundel County Police responded to the 7800 block of Coutros Court, Pasadena, Maryland for an unknown disturbance. Upon arrival officers located a deceased male in the address suffering from apparent upper body trauma. The deceased was positively identified as Breon “Breezy” Emerson Cager, 27 of Pasadena, MD.

The Anne Arundel County Homicide Unit assumed command of the investigation and sifted through evidence as they searched the address where the victim was found. Several witnesses were located and brought to the Criminal Investigation Division where interviews were obtained.

On Wednesday, January 14, 2015, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner located in Baltimore Maryland will perform an autopsy and determine the exact cause and manner of death. As this is a very fluid and active investigation the Anne Arundel County Police are urging anyone with information to come forward by calling Homicide Detective Vincent Carbonaro 410-222-3453.

If people with information wish to remain anonymous they can also contact the Anne Arundel County Police Tip Line 410-222-4700 or Metro Crime Stoppers.

The Anne Arundel County Police are also still seeking information in the November 14, 2014 shooting death of Janvante Jaquan Parker and the September 29, 2014 shooting/attempted murder of Ernest Green Jr. These shootings, along with Breon Cager, all occurred within a one block radius of the Freetown Community and at this point investigators are not ruling out the possibility of them being related.

This marks the first homicide of the year for Anne Arundel County. Last year there were 13 homicides in the county.
