The Light House today announced it has received a grant of $15,000 from the Bank of America Charitable Foundation to support its efforts in breaking the cycle of homelessness in the Anne Arundel County. The investment will assist The Light House in serving both the immediate and long-term needs of those in our community who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless by providing individuals with emergency housing and services such as counseling, basic life skills and job training programs.
“We are very grateful to the Bank of America Charitable Foundation for their continued financial support and their shared vision to better the lives of those in our community who are most in need,” said Elizabeth Kinney, Executive Director of The Light House.
In 2013 alone, The Light House provided close to 30,000 bed nights of shelter and distributed more than 95,000 meals at its facility in Annapolis, all while empowering those in need through workforce development and emotional support programs.
Bank of America’s grant will serve to further The Light House’s ability to distribute these resources, aiding in the organization’s mission to transition Anne Arundel’s homeless community into self-sufficiency.
