Champion’s Jon Coile named most influential executive

Champion RMTIJon Coile, president and CEO of Champion Realty, has been named one of the country’s “100 Most Influential Real Estate Executives” in the fall 2014 issue of Real Estate Executive Magazine.  It’s the first such list for the magazine, which plans to bestow the honor annually based on a rigorous analysis of company size and executive responsibilities.

Coile, the only real estate executive from Maryland to make the list, heads a multi-office full-service real estate brokerage serving the Chesapeake Bay region. He joined Champion in 1988, a year after its founding; became a partner in 1990; and by 2003 was named president, followed by CEO in 2006.  Before launching his real estate career, Coile was an officer in the U.S. Navy.

“I do not think of this as a personal award,” said Coile. “It’s a validation of all the great things Champion Realty agents do to help our clients.”  Coile takes pride in attracting top talent to the company and introducing cutting-edge technology, such as an augmented reality smart phone app offered free to the public in 2014.

Coile has both practical experience running a real estate company and keen insights into the data needs of the entire industry—built through leadership roles such as:

  • Chairman of the board of MRIS, the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) for the Mid-Atlantic region.
  • Advisory board member for Move, Inc., the operator of REALTOR.com – one of the three largest real estate websites in the world.
