Bountiful Harvest breaks records for Light House

The Friends of The Light House recently hosted the 24th Annual Bountiful Harvest, A Blue Tie Event.   The annual event benefits The Light House, a homeless prevention support center in Annapolis, Maryland and took place at the Loews Annapolis Hotel.

Attendees enjoyed culinary treats prepared local restaurants and caterers including the Loews Hotel Annapolis, The Irish Restaurant Company, Palate Pleasers, Julie St. Marie Catering & Chef Quinton West, The Light House B.E.S.T. Catering, Sweet Hearts Patisserie, Blackwall Hitch, Ports of Call at the Double Tree Hotel and Dry85. The Culinary students from The Light House B.E.S.T. (Building Employment Success Training) program also showcased their talents alongside local chefs.

According to Alicia Main, Co-chair of Bountiful Harvest, “it was exciting to see our guests embrace the new “blue” theme. There were blue gowns, blue Hawaiian shirts, blue jeans and Senator Astle even sported a blue tuxedo. We had a record-breaking attendance and raised more money than ever before. Our guests enjoyed listening to music by the Rob Levit Trio, while bidding on a wide array of silent and live auction items. Alex Cortright emceed the live auction, which also raised more money than previous years.”

A jewelry wall featured 100 pieces of jewelry from Blanca Flor Silver Jewelry, where guests could buy a chance to win a piece of jewelry valued up to $250. Ironmark of Annapolis provided printing for all event materials, which were designed by Marie Reed of Reed Graphics, Inc.

The Friends of the Light House is also grateful to Dr. Angela Peterman and her husband Edward Ponatoski, of Anne Arundel Dermatology, who generously agreed to be the Bountiful Harvest Gold Level Sponsor this year; the pair also donated a stunning basket of dermatology items to the silent auction. The Helen J. Serini Foundation was the Silver Level Sponsor, and Kate Hopkins was the Bronze Level Sponsors for the event. All have been supporters of The Light House over the years.
