Police investigating Glen Burnie armed carjacking

CarjackingOn December 16, 2014, at approximately 9:03 p.m., officers from the Northern District responded to the area of McGowan Road and Beach Road in Glen Burnie for a report of an armed carjacking of a taxi cab driver from Taz Inc. in Brooklyn.

The 52-year-old female driver reported that she responded to the 900 block of Washburn Avenue in Brooklyn to pick up a fare around 8:45 p.m. Upon arrival, two males instructed her to drive them to the area of McGowan Road and Beach Road. Once at that location, the suspects then displayed a handgun, and demanded the victim exit the taxi cab. The victim was left on scene and both suspects subsequently fled the area in the taxi cab. The taxi cab, a 2006 orange Chevrolet Impala, was later located a short distance away in the area of Southbridge Drive in Glen Burnie. The suspects were described as two black males in their early 20’s, approximately 5’11”-6’0” with slim builds, wearing dark-colored clothing. The victim was not harmed during the incident. This is an ongoing investigation.
