Schuh names transition spokesman

County Executive-elect Steve Schuh today named Owen McEvoy as Schuh transition spokesperson.

“Owen brings the expertise, insight and experience needed to help ensure our transition will be smooth and professional,” said Schuh. “I’m excited he’s chosen to join us as we put a team into place that will best serve the people of Anne Arundel County.”

“Steve Schuh will be the kind of County Executive that puts the people of Anne Arundel County first,” said McEvoy. “I’m honored to be a part of his transition team.”

Prior to joining Schuh’s transition team, McEvoy most recently worked in Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett’s Office of Press and Communications. In this capacity, McEvoy served as the governor’s chief speechwriter and directed the communications efforts of the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, Military and Veterans Affairs, State, as well as the Office of Inspector General. He also previously served as an aide to former Maryland Governor Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr.

A graduate of Calvert Hall College High School, Georgetown University and Villanova Law School, McEvoy, 30, is a native of Bel Air, Md.

County Executive-elect Steve Schuh was elected Anne Arundel County Executive on Tuesday, November 4, and will be sworn into office on December 1.
