Schuh continues reappointments and recommendations

County Executive-elect Steve Schuh today announced his intention to reappoint Anne Arundel County Administrative Hearing Officer Douglas Clark Hollman and Anne Arundel Workforce Development Corporation (AAWDC) President and CEO Kirkland Murray.

Schuh also announced he will recommend the appointment of Dr. Jinlene Chan as permanent Anne Arundel County Health Officer. In accordance with state law, the appointment is made with the consent of the County Council, and approved by Maryland’s Secretary of Health and Mental Hygiene.

“Douglas, Kirkland and Jinlene are all doing good work for the people of Anne Arundel County,” said Schuh. “Each has had an esteemed career in public service, and I want them to continue in their efforts as we make our county the best place to live, work and start a business in Maryland.”

Douglas Clark Hollmann has been Administrative Hearing Officer since 2008. Prior to that, he served as an assistant district attorney, a U.S. Department of Justice attorney, and as an attorney in the Anne Arundel County Office of Law. His clients have included maritime businesses, civic groups such as the Cape St. Claire Improvement Association and the county’s Board of Education.

Kirkland Murray has been Anne Arundel Workforce Development Corporation President and CEO since 2008. Prior that, he served as Business Development Director at AAWDC. Murray also served as an official in Maryland’s Department of Business and Economic Development. He is a graduate of Frostburg State University.

Dr. Jinlene Chan has been Acting Anne Arundel County Health Officer since December 2012. Prior to that, she served as the Deputy Health Officer for the Healthy Families Administration. She has a Masters of Public Health (MPH) from Johns Hopkins University, and Doctorate of Medicine (MD) from the University of South Carolina.

County Executive-elect Steve Schuh was elected Anne Arundel County Executive on Tuesday, November 4, and will be sworn into office on December 1.
