Annapolis shoppers to be rewarded on Saturday

small_business_saturday_for_your_storeThe Annapolis Business Association is promoting Small Business Saturday, November 29, 2014, as a day to “Shop Local” in Annapolis.  For the 3rd consecutive year in, the ABA was awarded a Shop Small Business Saturday prize pack full of promotional products and $25 American Express gift cards. All shoppers who bring their receipts from local merchants to the Pocket Park on lower Main Street on Small Business Saturday can spin the Prize Wheel to win American Express gift cards, concert tickets from WRNR and more, beginning at 11 AM.  All receipts must be dated November 29th to spin the wheel.

Special Small Business Saturday offers can be viewed on the Annapolis Business Associations website, www.annapolisbusinessassociation.com under the special Small Business Saturday section. The site is being updated daily with new offers. All downtown merchants that plan to offer any specials for this day should send an e-mail to [email protected] so the ABA can help you promote.

American Express Credit Card shoppers can receive $10 credit on their American Express account for spending $25 or more at a local merchant on Small Business Saturday.

The first ever Small Business Saturday was launched on November 27, 2010 by American Express to encourage people to shop small, independent businesses. In 2011, the US Senate officially recognized the day. By 2012, Small Business Saturday had generated an estimated $5.5 billion at small independent businesses on this one day of the year.
