Annapolis scores 2 Mobbie Awards for Eye On Annapolis and Naptown Pint

Eye On Annapolis was selected as the Best Suburbs Blog and Naptown Pint was selected as the Wonkiest Blog at the Baltimore Sun’s Mobbie Awards last night at the Creative Alliance in Baltimore.

The Mobbies are presented by  The Baltimore Sun and is an annual celebration of Maryland’s blog and social media communities. This is the sixth year they have presented the awards.

Last year, Eye On Annapolis was selected for the best Twitter account and this year, we were selected as the Best Suburbs Blog.  Naptown Pint was mentioned as a blog to watch last year and this year proved them right.  Pint was selected as the Wonkiest Blog for her deep delving into beer.

Additionally, Eye On Annapolis ranked #6 in the Best Twitter category this year (out of 57 nominations) and #5 in best Facebook Page out of 37 nominations.

Faux Annapolis, our favorite snarky faux spokesperson even ranked 4th as the Wackiest Blog or Account, 30th in Best Twitter Account, and 33rd in Best Facebook Page. And considering he is a government worker (sort of) that is quite the accomplishment!

The awards were kept a secret and presented at a soiree at the Creative Alliance in Baltimore with The Sun’s Ian Duncan hosting the evening. The event was a great opportunity to meet other people in new media face to face, forge new friendships and partnerships! Photos of the evening can be found in The Sun’s Darkroom.

But to all the readers who took the time to show your support of our website, Twitter feed, or Facebook page–THANK YOU!
