One critical after car crashes on Route 665, falls into creek

traffic-accident iconOn November 27th at approximately 02:14am traffic safety officers and fire department personnel responded to a report of a single vehicle crash personal injury on Aris T Allen Blvd (MD-665) near Solomons Island Rd (MD-2) in Annapolis.

Preliminary investigation revealed a black 2010 Volkswagen Jetta, occupied by three people, was westbound on Aris T Allen Blvd. when it left the roadway into the center median, struck the bridge structure at Church Creek, overturned and fell approximately 75 feet into the creek below, ejecting one passenger.

Desmond Tomas Brown, 24, of Annapolis was the driver and refused treatment at the scene. Passenger, John Graham, also 24 of Annapolis also refused treatment. Passenger Laura Blaha, 23, of Annapolis was flown to Shock-Trauma with critical injuries.

The female passenger (#2) ejected from the vehicle was found with life threatening injuries and was transported by Maryland State Police helicopter to Shock Trauma where she is listed in critical condition. The driver and other passenger refused medical treatment.

The cause of the crash appears to be excessive speed and alcohol and not snow/ice. Traffic Safety is handling the investigation.
