County Executive-elect Steve Schuh today announced that Diane Croghan will serve as Chief of Staff to the County Executive.

“Diane has the talent and organizational skills essential in helping lead Anne Arundel County in a new direction,” said Schuh. “I’m excited that she has agreed to join me as we make Anne Arundel County the best community to live, work, and start a business in Maryland.”

Croghan has previously served as Mission Growth Specialist for County Executive Laura Neuman. In that role, she oversaw issues related to Fort Meade, including coordinating the county response to the more than 10,600 people who shifted to the area as a result of the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) Commission.

She also previously served as Chief of Staff to the House of Delegates Republican Caucus, where she managed and coordinated the legislative agenda of the 43 Republican members in the General Assembly.

Since June 2013, Croghan has served as campaign manager for Steve Schuh for County Executive. She also worked as Regional Political Director for former Governor Robert L. Ehrlich Jr.

Croghan is the first female chief of staff for an Anne Arundel County Executive since Mary Brandenburg, who served County Executive Robert Neall. As Chief of Staff, Croghan will oversee the Executive Office, and coordinate with the executive agencies across county government.

“I’m honored that the County Executive-elect has entrusted me with this responsibility,” said Croghan. “I look forward to helping him build a stronger Anne Arundel County.”

County Executive-elect Steve Schuh was elected Anne Arundel County Executive on Tuesday, November 4, and will be sworn into office on December 1.
