St. Anne’s adds Saturday evening services

St. Anne’s Episcopal Church is adding a Saturday evening Eucharistic Mass to its weekend worship schedule, starting October 5th.  This new service, focused on Holy Communion, starts at 5:30 pm and lasts about 45 minutes. The service includes a brief homily, the same collects and reading to be used the next day, and contemporary Christian liturgical music led by piano or guitar. Incense will be used prior to the service but not during it.

Says Associate Rector, Joe Pagano, “For many people, having communion on a Saturday or Sunday is part of their regular rhythm of spirituality. We believe this service meets a need in the community by appealing particularly to those who were raised in the Catholic faith and tradition.”

Like the 5:30 pm Sunday service, this is come-as-you-are and family-friendly. The service is led by Reverend Doctors Amy Richter and Joe Pagano. Children coming with their families are encouraged to participate. This allows them to serve in a low pressure environment, have fun, and be formed in their faith.
