Seth Howard, a Republican candidate for the Maryland House of Delegates in District 30-B has fallen behind on his campaign reporting for the second election cycle and received a Show Cause Letter from the State Board of Elections.
Howard was a candidate in 2010 and again in 2014 and during the two election cycles has been issued 5 violations for failure to file timely reports. Several of them have been waived, however in 2012, his delinquency was forwarded to to the State Prosecutor’s Office. Most of the reports were ultimately filed within a few weeks; but the most recent one was nearly a month late.
In a notice from the Maryland State Board of Elections, dated October 21, 2014, Howard was told that failure to comply could result in his prohibition from being a candidate, the forwarding of the violation to the Office of the State prosecutor, and if found guilty, up to a year in prison.
Howard’s most recent report was submitted on time on October 24, 2014 and shows a balance of $16,098.06
