Enjoy a spectacular evening of music, light, drama and dance. One of the most popular events on the “Yard”, the concert features U.S. Naval Academy Chapel organist Monte Maxwell and the multi-talented midshipmen in a presentation that has drawn record-breaking crowds to the USNA Chapel. The concert uses special effects and a wide variety of music from multiple genres to celebrate the triumph of good over evil.
Militia Muster

Join the residents of Anne Arundel County as they partake in the annual militia muster. Learn about colonial life and weaponry and maybe practice some drilling too as you watch re-enactors in action.
Maritime Republic of Eastport’s Tug o’ War

Drawing on a decades’-old rivalry, the annual charitable event features the longest tug-of-war over a body of water in the world, pitting downtown Annapolitans against the rebels of the mock-breakaway Maritime Republic of Eastport. Dubbed the Slaughter across the Water, it features a 1700-foot rope, 450 tuggers and 1000 spectators. A festival-like atmosphere overtakes downtown Eastport and Annapolis beginning at 11:00 a.m. Tugging begins promptly (more or less) at the crack o’ noon.

Take advantage of this once a year opportunity to peek inside some of the finest homes in Annapolis’ Historic District. Luminaries lead the way to centuries-old homes during a magical self-guided tour. This year’s houses are located on Maryland Avenue as well as King George, Prince George and East Streets. Across the Bay 10K
Sunday, November 9
Chesapeake Bay Bridge, Annapolis
Some 20,000 runners from across the country and around the world are expected to compete in the 6.2-mile inaugural race that includes a 4.3-mile trek across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, which reaches 186 feet at its highest point. The race should be an exhilarating experience for runners who will see water vistas dotted with sailboats from atop the major dual-span bridge that normally does not allow pedestrian traffic. The race marks the first organized crossing of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge on foot in eight years. Race day also will include a kid’s race. The event will benefit several charities.

Annapolis’ premiere Striped Bass Fishing Tournament will benefit the Bowen Foundation for Autism and the Chesapeake Bay Trust. Prizes include $100,000 for a striped bass that breaks the Maryland state record (67.8 lbs.), $10,000 for the first striped bass weighing more than 55 lbs. delivered to Chesapeake Harbour Marina, and several other prizes. Rocksgiving kicks off on Friday, November 14, with the captain’s happy hour from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
