Hospice SignMembers of the community and elected officials joined Hospice of the Chesapeake team for a 35th Anniversary celebration on Sept. 19 at the nonprofit’s headquarters in Pasadena, MD.

A new clock tower sign was installed by Gable Signs at the campus entrance to reflect the renaming of the 90 Ritchie Highway location to the John and Cathy Belcher Campus. The Annapolis couple donated $5 million towards the $15 million Caring for Life campaign announced to coincide with the 35th anniversary celebration. Strong supporters of the hospice have already donated $11 million to the fundraiser.

A ground-breaking was also held to mark the beginning of construction on a new 14-bed Inpatient Care Center, slated to open in the fall of 2015. Designed by architect Cathy Purple Cherry, the center will provide a state-of-the-art acute healthcare facility that offers patients needing significant pain and symptom management an alternative to hospitalization.
