Free music on Thursdays in Annapolis

lyra_printSt. Anne’s Church in Annapolis is the musical place to be on Thursdays in October and November.  The fall St. Anne’s Concert Series kicked off on Oct. 16th with the first free concert in the church featuring the Russian vocal quartet, Lyra. These one-hour concerts are the perfect way to ease into a night on the town for dinner, a glass of wine, the boat show or shopping. The series continues on Oct. 23 with the first of a group of JS Bach-focused programs. On Oct. 30, organist Larry Molinaro returns to play his special improvised accompaniment to the original 1925 “Phantom of the Opera” silent film. Performances are at 6:15pm.

The fall lineup includes:

  •    Oct 16- LYRA- Russian Vocal Quartet
  •    Oct 23- Bach +
  •    Oct 30- Phantom of the Opera- Big Screen Silent Film with live music
  •    Nov 6- United States Naval Academy Commandants Combo
  •    Nov 13- Atlantic Reed Consort
  •    Nov 20- Bach +

A co-presentation of St. Anne’s Church, the Rev. Dr. Amy Richter, Rector, and Live Arts Maryland, J. Ernest Green, Music Director, this music series is in its eleventh year of bringing great music and musicians to Annapolis. It also includes the free “12 minutes at 12:12” mini-concerts on Wednesdays in the church with Carolene Winter playing St. Anne’s organ.
