A concert of classical music by the Austrian string trio, ALEA-Ensemble, will be presented free of charge at 7 p.m. Oct. 28 in the Francis Scott Key Auditorium at St. John’s College.
The musical group, composed of Sigrid Praesent and Igmar Jenner, violinists and Tobias Stosiek, cello, will combine traditional and contemporary selections in a program that includes works by German and Austrian composers both classical and modern. Founded in 1988 by Gerhard Praesent, the ensemble performs throughout Europe always with high acclaim. Mr. Praesent, a composer and professor at the University of Music and Dramatic Arts in Graz, Austria, serves as conductor and arranger for the concert.
The program is sponsored by World Artists Experiences in collaboration with the Embassy of Austria and St. John’s College with the aim of bridging international diplomacy through the arts. For more information, check the WAE website at www.worldartists.org.
