On November first, Binder, an Emmy nominated Singer/songwriter will be headlining West Arundel Creative Alliance’s (WACA) first major fundraising event. It will be held, at Chesapeake Arts Center’s 752 seat Hammond’s Lane Theater located at 194 Hammonds Lane in Brooklyn Park.

Also performing that evening will be former Crofton resident and country recording artist Ashley Forrest plus American Idol semi-finalist Lindsay Bell. “It’s going to be a great evening,” says WACA Executive Director Rebecca Feibel, “We’re still working on the details, but we’ll have a silent auction and a VIP reception.” The Silent Auction will begin at 7:00 p.m. and the concert begins at 8:00 p.m.   Tickets can be purchased at the WACA website : www.WACArts.com.

Chesapeake Art Center (CAC) Executive Director  Belinda Fraley Huesman is happy to lend a hand to help host this first WACA fundraising event. . When speaking about West County she says, “This is an area that has seen significant growth in the past 10 years and is only 15 minutes away.    Chesapeake Arts Center has many residents from West county that participate in art classes, exhibits and events.   ACDS ( Arundel Corporation Development Services)provide scholarship tuition assistance to residents of Severn, so this is a natural fit for us to reach out to them.”

WACA will be partnering with CAC again next summer, July 2015. A full length  theatrical production produced by WACA  will be performed at CAC   “We’ve been culling through proposals,” explains Feibel, “The director picks the show he or she wants to direct, and while the performance will take place at the Chesapeake Arts Center, the rehearsals will be in West County. “

“CAC has a large 752 seat theatre which is the jewel of North County,” explains Huesman, “ Through a gracious bond bill, we will be updating our technical lighting and sound equipment just in time for their production,” she adds.

The two arts organizations look forward to working together.” I believe that partnerships are most beneficial as talents and monies can be utilized more efficiently as well as touch more people,” says Huesman. “   When they succeed we succeed as well.” she says.
