St. Johns COllegeAcclaimed authors Ruth Kassinger, Steve Vogel, and St. John’s College alumna Barbara Rogan, will discuss their latest works of fiction, nonfiction, and military history.  This fundraiser for student aid will be held at the Francis Scott Key Auditorium on Sunday, November 9 at 3 p.m.

In “A Garden of Marvels,” Kassinger’s latest book of nonfiction, the author endeavors to understand the basics of botany in order to become a better gardener. Along the way, she retraces the progress of early botanists and visits modern gardens, farms, and labs to discover the science behind extraordinary plants. “Through the Perilous Fight,” Vogel’s new work of military history, tells the story of the burning of Washington and the last stand at Baltimore that inspired the writing of the “Star-Spangled Banner.” Rogan’s latest mystery, “A Dangerous Fiction,” is set in New York City’s publishing world. The book introduces Jo Donovan, an industrious literary agency owner whose life is about to fall apart.
