Key School announces Inaugural Seminar Series for adults

Key SchoolIn the summer of 2014, Key School announced a year-long series of evening seminar discussions for adults. Modeled after seminar classes taught at Key, the Seminar Series for Adults will seek to engage adults from the surrounding community in spirited intellectual conversations about great novels, poems, films, and more. Bob McCarthy and Brian Boyd, both humanities teachers in the Upper School, will lead the discussions.

The theme for this inaugural year is “Monsters and the Monstrous,” with featured works including Robert Louis Stevenson’s The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (September 22), The Fly directed by David Cronenberg (October 20), and Edgar Allen Poe’s The Cask of Amontillado (December 8). Participants will be able to register for individual seminars of their choice or sign up for the entire series of eight. Seminars will be offered monthly: September 22, October 20, December 8, January 12, February 23, March 23, April 20, and May 11. Individual enrollment fee is $20 per seminar and $100 for the full series.
