Come celebrate fall and Halloween at the Goshen Farm Preservation Society’s annual Halloween Fall Fundraiser! The 6th annual event has become a local tradition and will be held on Saturday, October 25, from 7 to 11 PM at the Cape St. Claire Clubhouse, 1223 River Bay Road, Annapolis, MD 21409 (near the waterfront in the Cape St. Claire community). The Halloween Fall Fundraiser is an evening of music, dancing, food, and a silent auction, all to benefit Goshen Farm. The farm is located in the Broadneck area of Annapolis, just off of Cape St. Claire Road near the entrance to the Cape St. Claire community.
The Goshen Farm Preservation Society, Inc., supports the preservation and restoration of the historic Goshen Farm house and property and has made great strides since its formation in 2006. The farmhouse was constructed in the 1780s and sits among meadows and woods on 22 acres. Several original outbuildings remain standing in addition to the original structure. The Society has cleaned up and maintained the land, partially restored the exterior of the farmhouse and installed a new roof, and opened a Sharing Garden that allows members to “work the land” to grow their own fresh foods. Goshen Farm is also home to two Eagle Scout projects and one Girl Scout Gold Award project, with more to come.
Goshen Farm is a community treasure, and the Society has been working since 2007 to preserve the property for future generations. Barbara Morgan, Goshen Farm Events Chairperson, remarked, “This is our 6th annual Halloween Fall Fundraiser, and it’s become an event that everyone looks forward to each year. Costumes are optional, but those who dress up really make the event more festive and fun, and we have some great costumes every year! Groups of friends attend together and make an evening of it, and we provide food and have a cash bar available, too. Local businesses also donate door prizes and great silent auction items, so a lot of people go home with something new. It’s a fun evening that supports a great local cause. This year’s event is being catered by the Broadneck Grill.”
Tickets to the Halloween Fall Fundraiser are $20 for Goshen Farm members and $25 for non-members. Admission includes one drink and an assortment of hors d’oeuvres, snacks, and desserts. A silent auction will take place during the evening, and door prizes will be awarded. The event is restricted to ages 21 and older. All proceeds benefit the preservation and restoration of the farm.
