CD39IW2PTravel in your imagination to the childhood home of Kunta Kinte to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of west Africa.

The Chesapeake Children’s Museum will host a festival just for children – and their accompanying grown-ups – to mark the anniversary of Kunta Kinte’s arrival in the year 1767 in Annapolis.

Special guest Kwame Ansah-Brew will highlight the live entertainment with “A Journey to Africa”  through storytelling and music.  Kwame is the founder of the Performing Arts Center of African Cultures which recently opened in Laurel, Md.  He is a traditional master divine drummer from Ghana.

Join in making rhythms with drums and shakers.  Step to the pulse of the music.

You will be able to meet some animals from Africa, make a spirit mask, bottle cap rattle, Adinkra symbol headwrap and other traditional crafts.

Free with $4 museum admission. Extra charge for some activities.

Call for further information: 410-990-1993.
