Hunting to Help scavenger hunt – October 25

annapolis_header_logolarge_1024The third annual Hunting to Help scavenger hunt has been scheduled for Saturday, October 25 from 2 pm until 6 pm. This year’s event starts and ends on West Street at Rams Head Tavern. The scavenger hunt will take participants through downtown Annapolis in search of historic buildings and other markers that are revealed through clues on a worksheet completed during the activity. Teams will earn points based on items they find, puzzles they solve, and silly tasks performed. Groups compete to be the first to return to Rams Head.

Following the hunt, participants are invited to stay at Rams Head to enjoy prizes, raffles, great food and delicious adult beverages!  Registration is $25 per person and will include a t-shirt.  Teams should be made up of two to six people—adult teams encouraged, but children may participate.

Visit www.huntingtohelp.com for more information about registration and plans for the day.

The Hunting to Help scavenger hunt fundraiser was started in 2012. It is a challenge that takes participants around downtown Annapolis, where they explore the history of the city by solving puzzles, following clues, and having a good time. The goal of the fundraiser is to help fund research to battle cancer through the acclaimed University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute.

Anne Arundel County resident Courtney Clarke founded the Hunting to Help scavenger hunt in support of her mom. She was diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) in 2008 and breast cancer in 2013. Courtney’s mom is a fighter and her positive attitude and will to fight, to not let cancer slow her down, was an inspiration. Courtney wanted to do something that would have an impact on the race to cure cancer. She created the scavenger hunt to fund research to help her mom and others to fight cancer.

The Hunting to Help fundraiser is presented by Angler Carpentry. Support also comes from Clarity Business Solutions, Ram’s Head Tavern, the Severna Park Golf Center, and Signs By Tomorrow of Pasadena.
