Homestead Gardens’ Fall Fest through October

[do action=”schuh”/]

Homestead-Fall-Fest-59I wanted to go pumpkin picking in a real live pumpkin picking patch. Thankfully, the solution is just up the road in Davidsonville. Homestead Gardens.

On Sunday, we headed over to Homestead Gardens in Davidsonville to check out the Fall Festival. In a word–wow!  Each year they up the ante and add more and more family friendly activities to make this a terrific signature event for Anne Arundel County and beyond. Personally, I am not sure what is more impressive–this festival or the Grand Illumination and the festivities that surround the holidays!

Stroll the store, pick up some carving pumpkins or some great baked goods and fall-themed foods. Corn mazes, apple sling shots, pony rides, bouncy castles, pipe slide, pumpkin bowling, pumpkin painting, face painting, and hang out and listen to some great music!

If you want to roam acres and acres of fields and pick the perfect pumpkin–you can do that.  If you prefer to stroll among the thousands of pre-picked pumpkins–you can do that.  If you want to take a free wagon/hay ride through the property–you can do that. If you just want to stroll and see the fall colors–you can do that too!

Each week, a portion of the proceeds go to a local non-profit. For opening weekend, it went to the Annapolis Maritime Museum.

The fall festival is free as are the hayrides; but some attractions will require tickets which can be purchased throughout the festival. The festival runs every Saturday and Sunday 11-4 through October 26th!

Check out their schedule below (and check out their website because they are adding some surprises as we speak–along with some adult events too). Check out all the fun we had on Sunday; and finally check back for a video we took as well!
