After a landmark year in 2013, the Fringe Festival is returning to Annapolis for the 4th year on October 4, 2014. Inspired by the famous Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the Annapolis Fringe Festival is a low-cost, wildly fun one-day event of uncensored live performances by artists who push the boundaries, in some of the hottest venues in Annapolis. It’s an eclectic mix of music, dance, art, and theater.
Commencing at 4 p.m. and lasting until midnight, the Annapolis Arts & Entertainment District and historic West Street will come to life with comedy, satire, burlesque, music, paintings, and much more. Drawing attendees from DC, Baltimore, Northern Virginia and Philadelphia, the Fringe Festival gives artists an opportunity to perform and show their incredible talent to audiences that might not otherwise see their work. From Church Circle in downtown Annapolis to Westgate Circle, expect to see the unexpected on the first Saturday in October.
This year, the Arts Council of Anne Arundel County is sponsoring the Annapolis Fringe Festival. Admission price to the event is low—only $5—to encourage wider participation. Most of the restaurants and venues in the festival area will be offering specials on beverages and food to Fringe Festival button holders. In addition to street performers, there will be seperately ticketed performances inside venues located in the festival area. One exciting performer already scheduled is Lady Rizo, who will be singing and performing at Rams Head on Stage at 9:00 p.m.
In order to encourage a broader level of participation in the event, the admission price has been kept low. To help fund the event, the organizers are also running a Kickstarter fundraising campaign to enlist the support of art and performance lovers throughout the region.

The Annapolis Fringe Festival Kickstarter program is currently underway and supporters have until September 10, 2014 at 10:15 am to help meet the $5,200 goal.
