Police invstigating unusual death in Severn

pedestrian accidentOn August 23, 2014 at approximately 0152 hours, the Anne Arundel County Police Department responded to a report of an injured person in the roadway at the intersection of Meade Village Circle and Meade Village Road in the Severn area.

Upon arrival officers found the victim, Todd De Andre Thomas, lying face down and suffering from a head injury. Fire Department personnel arrived, began treatment, and transported Mr. Thomas to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma.

Officers began canvassing the area to determine what may have caused the injuries to Mr. Thomas. No witnesses came forward or were identified as having knowledge of how Mr. Thomas was injured. The Evidence Collection Unit arrived and processed the scene for evidence.

At approximately 0330 hours, officers were notified that Mr. Thomas died as a result of his injuries. The investigation suggests that Mr. Thomas may have fallen from the rear of a white van. The operator of the van may not realize that the Mr. Thomas was injured. The Traffic Safety Section has taken over the investigation due to a potential vehicle being involved.
