Tecla K-9 Academy to hold grand opening

DogtrainerTecla’s K-9 Academy will host their long-awaited grand opening party at their new, spacious Elkridge facility on Saturday, August 2, 2014. To mark the special occasion, Tecla Walton and her team have lined up a feature-packed event that is sure to be a crowd pleaser. Leashed and vaccinated dogs are welcome to attend the grand opening party along with their owners.

Orioles starting pitcher Chris Tillman will be on hand from Noon to 1:30 PM to meet and greet attendees and take pictures with fans and dogs alike, while 95.1 Shine FM will be broadcasting live from Tecla’s K-9 Academy-Elkridge. Live music entertainment will also be provided by three of Baltimore’s most respected musicians, including Sahffi, Naked Blue and Richard Walton.

Dog owners and lovers are urged to come out and help Tecla and her team celebrate and take advantage of special offers that will only be available the day of the event. Door prizes will also be given away to some lucky attendees. Tecla and her team will also be performing live demos, and attendees with dogs will be able try out some of the Sport Dog activities that Tecla’s K-9 Academy is famous for.

Tecla’s K-9 Academy has established itself as an elite dog-training organization, and the new Elkridge facility will enable Tecla and her team to reach as many dogs as possible and continue to help those that are most in need. From rescue dogs to those with behavioral issues that other trainers have given up on, Tecla considers it her mission to help each and every dog that she can. Since becoming a trainer over 13 years ago, she has helped literally thousands of dogs, many of which would not have been given a chance in life otherwise.

With every modern appointment possible, the new facility may just set the standard for excellence for dog training, daycare and boarding facilities. The location was carefully chosen in order to be close to several commuter routes, including I-95, BWI Parkway, Route 100 and I-97, making it highly convenient for busy professionals who only give their dog the best care possible.

The new facility offers the plush comforts in a safe and clean setting that every dog owner wants for their K9 friend, including custom built kennels and boarding suites made from the finest fiber reinforced composite materials available. The training and boarding areas have separate climate controls, and the entire facility is equipped with top of the line air filtration systems, so owners can be confident their pets are enjoying their home away from home in a comfortable and healthy environment. The training rooms are equipped with a sound system so trainers can be heard clearly during instruction, and boarding dogs can also enjoy soothing music during their stay. All floors in the facility are covered with the highest grade epoxy available, which is exceptional for sanitary control and will keep the daycare dogs in a good play atmosphere. The main training room floor is covered with agility matting. Two private training rooms are available to those who want or need to work with a trainer in a closed setting. A 1200 sq. ft. fenced off space outside the building provides ample space for potty walks. And just like in the Ellicott City facility, dogs and puppies will have separate daycare rooms so that dogs play with dogs, and pups with pups—an important and oft overlooked key to proper socialization.
