More than 2 dozen campers sickened by pool chemicals at Camp Letts in Edgewater

Breaking NewsAnne Arundel County Fire officials are currently dealing with a mass casualty incident at Camp Letts in Edgewater.

Shortly before 10am, crews were dispatched for a number of children who appeared to have been overcome by fumes from a pool on the camp’s property.  At this time, many ambulances have been dispatched and are taking the victims,(10 priority 2, and 15 priority 3) to hospitals in the region including Queen Annes, Anne Arundel, and Johns Hopkins.

The County does have a mass casualty ambulance, but it is currently out of service. Howard County’s ambulance was dispatched.

More details will be coming as they become available.

Please note that the term “mass casualty” indicates many injuries and is not related to the severity of injuries.
