Annapolis Maritime Antiques opens in Eastport

annapolismaritimeantiquesOn Thursday, June 26th, Tony Kime opened the doors of Annapolis Maritime Antiques in Eastport to the public, after a lengthy and extensive renovation process. The location is the former Raven’s Studio on the corner of Severn Avenue and 2nd Street. The new owners of the renovated building, Dome Chartering Inc., kept the improvements true to its historic roots, and Tony has committed to a long-term lease for his business of custom Liberty Ship hatch-cover furniture, nautical antiques, and nautical décor from around the world.

The reaction from the locals in Eastport has been extremely positive. A long-term Annapolis resident, George Nassif of the Annapolis Chamber of Commerce, commented that “this shop could be the cornerstone of expanding retail in Eastport!” During the first two weeks of its opening, the shop has seen a non-stop train of shoppers, both residential and business neighbors, not to mention the out-of-town visitors who frequent the many restaurants on Severn Avenue.

After four years of strictly doing business out of a converted waterman’s shed, on Parish Creek in Shady Side MD,  by way of his web site and phone, Tony revamped his online presence with a new blogging platform, plus Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and YouTube – all to coincide with the new retail store location.

With a constantly changing inventory, and the opportunity for customers to order an endless variety of custom hatch cover furniture – tables, desks, bar tops, kitchen island tops and counters, benches, sideboards, and end tables –  Annapolis Maritime Antiques will have authentic and decorative merchandise for years to come.
