  • The Singing Lizard Electro-Kindie music
  • Miss Mandy from Music Together Chesapeake.
  • Touch and play real instruments at a Musical Instrument Petting Zoo!
  • Arts and Crafts for the kids to create!

The main event begins at 3:00 p.m., featuring live performances by:

  • What Happens in Vegas (featuring Lez Warner from The Cult!)

Thomas Barnhill who started the foundation last year with his wife, Allison, said the Mariner Music Festival has been a longtime dream of theirs.

“Ultimately, our vision is for this event to grow bigger ever year, and maybe even one day reach a national level on par with Bonnaroo, Coachella, and Lollapalooza.”

Tom says while they recognize this is a lofty dream, it’s the “can-do” attitude and support of the families, businesses and community that has gotten them this far since starting the foundation last October.

“With autism spectrum disorders affecting so many families, we aren’t afraid to dream big”, he says.

About 1 in 68 children has been identified with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) according to estimates from CDC’s Autism and Developmental Disabilities Monitoring (ADDM) Network.

Allison says they are very proud and excited with the line-up and variety of local favorite bands participating. “Since Avergan Foundation benefits children, it was important to us to create an event that the whole family can enjoy.”
