15-year old Young Marines leader charges with child sex offenses

sex crimesOn Sunday, July 13th, 2014 Anne Arundel County Child Abuse detectives responded to the Western District Police Station to investigate allegations of sexual child abuse.  A child victim disclosed he was sexually abused while attending the Annapolis Chapter of Young Marines over the course of two years.   Through witness interviews and evidence collected, detectives identified a fifteen year old juvenile as the suspect of the sex abuse allegations.

During the course of the investigation information was developed that the suspect was overseeing younger children belonging to the Annapolis Chapter of Young Marines. The suspect was a squad leader and the victim was in his care and custody.  It was during this time when the juvenile victim was abused.  The Anne Arundel County Police Department is seeking the community’s assistance with identifying any other possible victims of abuse that may have occurred while attending the Annapolis Chapter of Young Marines. It is believed the abuse took place at the VFW located at 2597 Dorsey Rd. Glen Burnie, MD and Downs Park in Pasadena.

Detectives charged the fifteen year old male with Second Degree Child Abuse, a Third Degree Sex Offense and a Fourth Degree Sex Offense.
