7 displaced as car rams through Annapolis apartment building

On Friday, July 11, 2014, at 01:43AM, Annapolis Fire Department units were dispatched to the unit block of Melrob Court in Eastport, for a reported motor vehicle accident with a car into a structure.

Upon arrival, units found a passenger vehicle which had driven into the building, through ground level sliding glass doors, and traveled completely through the building, exiting the sliding glass doors of an adjacent apartment unit.

Firefighters and paramedics evaluated numerous subjects, and found that there were no injuries.

Annapolis Police Department investigated the incident. A City of Annapolis Building Inspector also responded to evaluate the structural stability of the building. Approximately seven (7) people were displaced due to the incident. The Red Cross responded to assist them with immediate needs.
