Annapolis celebrates Independence Day

Hurricane Arthur stayed away (just like I said it would on WRNR on Thursday), the skies cleared, the temperatures dropped, the streets filled with people, and the skies lit up with brilliant colors!  Welcome to Independence Day–Annapolis style.

Earlier this morning, we witnessed 39 new citizens take the oath of allegiance at the William Paca House. Late this afternoon, we strolled West and Main Streets capturing the sights and sounds of the parade full of kids, canines, cars, and yes–politicians too. Dropped in at City Dock to listen to the USNA Band warm up the crowd for the main event!

But the highlight of the night was Buddy’s Crabs & Ribs who offers a great meal at a great price!  And on the Fourth of July it is the kind of place that just hits the spot. And the view can’t be beat. And speaking of the view, after enjoying a really good burger and a few iced teas (the whole diet thing you know), we were able to get up on the roof to bring a different perspective to the fireworks display over the Annapolis Harbor.

And of course, we were able to capture some fun photos as well (I never do well with fireworks, so look at this great shot from Matt Cole from The Capital) …
